Breaking for freedom, size 24×30,

This painting was inspired by the Scripture where it talks about freedom we receive through our faith in Jesus Christ. I painted a smaller version of it at my church while Pastor was preaching and it was sold on the spot. When I got home, I decided to paint a larger piece with more details emphasizing the light towards which the hands are stretched. The light symbolizes God and the hands are stretched to Him because only He can give us lasting, eternal freedom. The chains are symbolic of many sins and traumas that hold us captive: addiction, envy, gluttony, lack of forgiveness. Unless we trust God fully, we won’t be able to break these chains.
